This was my first and only horse, Angie, short for Dearbought's Native Angel. His father was a thoroughbred horse. His mother was a beautiful Percheron draft horse. Draft/race horse crosses are sometimes called Warmbloods, since the thoroughbred side gives their temperment heat and the draft side cools them off and keeps them steady. They are often bred for sports, jumping and dressage, being sturdy and large but also more delicate than a pure draft horse.

Angie was large, but also one of the most delicate animals I've ever been around. He loved being ridden gently. Just a small movement of a finger agaist the rein and he would respond gracefully and immediately. He was well known before I got him for bucking people because they weren't gentle enough, and it was a long fall when it happened. He could do small jumps, cantered beautifully, and loved to be brushed. One of my favorite things about him was how woolly and fluffy he got in the winter. He really was an Angel.

These are a few pictures of him in the barn, along with a picture of me riding him.
